How it Works

Creating an Employee Giving Campaign... it's easy!

Materials:
Information packets (brochures and pledge cards) are put together by Community Shares volunteers. All the employer has to do is distribute the packets.
We also have online giving software called eShare™ that is a simple but effective tool to use during a giving campaign.

Presentations:
Community Shares Campaign volunteers are available to make presentations to employees.
Community Shares  works with the employer's campaign coordinator to schedule presentations and answers any questions. Again, everything is done in a way that makes it easy for the employer.

Processing Pledges:
1) Employees receive a pledge card (in the information packet) to complete and return to the campaign coordinator (or pledging is done online and a report is generated).
2) The campaign coordinator forwards the first part of the triplicate pledge card to payroll.
3) The payroll department assigns a deduction code for Community Shares or the Partnership for Colorado and enters the deductions for each donor.
4) The second part of the card is for the employer's records or to forward to the donor.
5) The campaign coordinator forwards the third portion of the pledge cards along with a summary report to the Community Shares Campaign Director.
6) Community Shares, in turn, provides written confirmation of the campaign totals and any cash or checks that have been received by the employer.
7) Accounts payable sends a check to Community Shares on a mutually agreed schedule - monthly, quarterly, semi-annually - whatever is deemed appropriate and convenient.
8) Community Shares distributes funds to the appropriate federations and agencies.
