Meet the Staff
Alyssa Kopf was named CEO of Community Shares of Colorado in March of 2008. Since joining the staff of Community Shares in 2002, Alyssa has led the annual Community Giving Campaign and developed My Colorado Project. Alyssa leads numerous local and national training workshops each year and is committed to introducing innovative communication and e-philanthropy strategies to nonprofit organizations. She is the former chair of the National Alliance for Choice in Giving's Technology Committee and sits on the Community Shares USA Technology Task Force. Alyssa graduated from the inaugural class of Impact Denver, a program for young civic leaders through the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Foundation. In 2007 Alyssa completed a fellowship with the Center for Progressive Leadership. Alyssa is also on the advisory board of the Denver Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN). She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in History.
Mary Snyders has been raising money, managing programs, and producing events in the Colorado nonprofit arena since 1997. She has a diverse background in resource generation and special events, and has raised funds for organizations such as Junior Achievement, the Colorado AIDS Project, and National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Before entering the nonprofit sector, she was with an international consulting firm as a computer programmer and a communication planner. Mary has Bachelors of Arts degrees in both Business Management and Communication from North Carolina State University. She lives in Denver with her husband Scott, her daughter Lila, and her female cat named Kurtis.
Erin Atwell joined the Community Shares team for the 2008 – 2009 Community Workplace Giving Campaign. Most recently she managed the Sales Departments for group and tourism attendance at the Denver Art Museum and Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC. A native of Colorado, Erin is excited to be introducing and connecting individuals to the diverse member non-profits serving our communities. Erin attended the University of Notre Dame where she studied marketing and anthropology, she hold a Bachelors of Business Administration.
Diana Esguerra joined Community Shares in September 2009. Her professional background is in small business management in the private sector. Diana holds a Masters degree in Management from the University of Colorado and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies from the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship. Almost-a-native of Colorado, Diana enjoys all the natural wonders this state has to offer, and spends much of her free time doing so with her dogs Trelo and Tutter.
Kristi Keolakai joined the Community Shares team in June 2010. Most recently she was the manager of client services at
Jason Manke brings a rich background in membership direction, virtual communications, and e-philanthropy, and joins the CShares team after 5 years at the American Alpine Club in Golden. Jason is a team member for a new and exciting social enterprise called Email Emblems, which in 2007 won the Tomorrow’s Wealth Prize in Europe’s largest business plan competition, the Oxford University 21st Century Challenge. In addition to his nonprofit professional pursuits he has climbed around the world and owns a nature photography company. You’ll frequently find him climbing and touring Colorado with his 4x5 wooden field camera when he isn’t in the office. Jason is a former board member of the Young Nonprofit Professional Network. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with a B.S. in Natural Resources.

A position formerly held by Paycheck the Bear, the CSC mascot plays an important role in inspiring philanthropy - grabbing the attention of casual observers. Duff's mascot heroes include Rocky from the Nuggets, Dinger from the Rockies, and the magnificent Mariner Moose. Look for Duff at your 2009 workplace giving fair and she'll shake your hand when you turn in your pledge form.
