Community Shares Releases Young Donor Tool-Kit

Thanks to a fruitful collaboration between Sarah Fischler and Community Shares, we are pleased to make available a valuable tool-kit for nonprofit organizations preparing to reach out to younger donors. The tool-kit highlights the results of a survey of how generational differences impact the motivations, preferences, and expectations of donors. It also features an evaluation questionnaire to determine if your nonprofit is ready and has the resources to pursue young donors and suggestions for implementation.

Sarah Fischler, report co-author, said, "After surveying almost 700 people about generational differences and nonprofit giving, it is clear that younger donors want to contribute in different ways. Nonprofit organizations need to consider these differences and respond accordingly to successfully attract younger donors. This toolkit gives nonprofit organizations the tools they need to get started in developing and implementing a young donor program."

Authors of the toolkit, Alyssa Kopf and Sarah Fischler, will be presenting on the report and using technology to engage young donors at the Colorado Nonprofit Association fall conference this Friday October 27, 2007. We will also schedule a free training for CSC members in January of 2008.
