For Immediate Release April 4, 2007
Denver, CO - Community Shares of Colorado, a local nonprofit that provides operating funds and raises awareness for more than 160 charities, announced today it raised a new record of over $1.56 million in donations for
Colorado nonprofits during its annual Community Giving Campaign this year.
This year's giving campaign grew by over 8.8% and connected Coloradans to outstanding local nonprofits such as The Gathering Place, Colorado Public Radio, Women's Bean Project, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, and Project Angel Heart to name a few.
"Community Shares is honored that a generous portion of Coloradan's philanthropy was directed to our partner nonprofit charities" said Jesse Wolff, CEO of Community Shares. "From providing quality healthcare for the underserved to conserving Colorado's environment to supporting children and families, our member nonprofits are improving our quality of life and meeting real needs in the Colorado community every day."
"We participate in over 160 employee giving campaigns annually in the local corporate, public and nonprofit sectors. With all the demands on our personal income these days, exceeding last year's record setting giving campaign by almost 9% is a testament to the community spirit that so many Coloradans possess," said Wolff. # # #
