Ways to build the Community Giving Campaign
1. Spread the Word
The #1 reason people say they don't give at their workplace
giving campaign is because "no one asked". Request 5
minutes at a staff meeting to tell people why you support
workplace giving.
2. Get Involved!
Many campaigns are still in the planning stages and may need
your help. If you don't know who coordinates your company's
giving campaign contact Community Shares to find out how to
get involved.
3. Make It Happen!
Start a giving campaign at your office. Workplace giving
campaigns are easy, efficient and effective. Take the lead
in building your company's community investment program.
4. Have Fun! If
your company runs a low-key campaign, find simple ways to
make it fun! Create your own theme, put up flyers, and send
emails to raise awareness. Five minutes of your time could
add up for hundreds of additional dollars for the community.
5. Keep Your Resource
Guide The Community Shares brochure is a great guide
to community resources. Keep it in your desk or at home in
case you want to volunteer with a member agency or know
someone who needs services.

2007 Harvest run a great success!
On September 9th, over 220 runners, walkers, and families
braved the chilly weather and joined Community Shares and
ten local credit unions for the 2007 Credit Union Harvest
Run/Walk. This exciting event in Broomfield also featured a
Kids Fun Run, an Expo with local businesses and nonprofits,
and great awards for the winners. This year’s event raised
over $10,000 for Community Shares of Colorado!

The 2007 Harvest Run/Walk was produced by the Boulder Valley
Credit Union, Boulder Municipal Employees Federal Credit
Union, St. Vrain Valley Credit Union, Premier Members
Federal Credit Union, Elevations Credit Union, Bellco Credit
Union, Norbel Credit Union, Westminster Federal Credit
Union, Colorado United Credit Union, and Aurora Catholic
