September 2007 e-Community Community Shares kicks off 2007 Community Giving Campaign   Last year, Community Shares' Community Giving Campaign engaged more donors, offered more workplace giving campaigns, supported more nonprofit agencies, and put more dollars to work in the community than ever before.  Our donors pledged nearly $1.6 million in donations to local nonprofit organizations through easy and convenient payroll contributions.  With an "everyday philanthropist" average gift of less than $1 each day, we came together as a community of donors, giving incrementally to make monumental change.   This month we are kicking off our 2007 Community Giving Campaign.  Your continued support will make it possible for us to offer diverse and inclusive choices in the workplace.  Please be sure to look for Community Shares at your workplace and choose to connect to the causes and charities you care about most.   If you would like to add Community Shares to your company's giving campaign or start a giving campaign at your workplace, please contact us today!   Thanks and regards, Alyssa Kopf, Interim CEO   This Sunday.. This year, the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado awarded Community Shares a challenge grant, helping us raise funds to increase philanthropy in the community and launch My Colorado (click here to learn more about the grant).  We've raised $5,000 in new donations so far and still need an additional $5,000 to reach our goal.  If you've never considered giving to Community Shares of Colorado before, now is a great time to give.  Click here to make a donation. Partners of the month Outstanding Member Agency KGNU Independent Community Radio KGNU joined Community Shares in 1993 and has since been an incredible marketing partner, annually raising awareness of workplace giving and community philanthropy to their listeners.  Recently Alyssa Kopf was also featured in an interview highlighting the upcoming Harvest Run and KGNU is already eager to help promote My Colorado.  KGNU has been broadcasting independent, noncommercial, community radio to the Boulder Valley on 88.5FM since 1977.  This month marks the third anniversary of KGNU broadcasting on 1390AM in Denver.  Join KGNU tonight at their Denver Studios (700 Kalamath St.) for an Open House Celebration and Silent Auction.   Outstanding Workplace City of Colorado Springs The City of Colorado Springs / Colorado Springs Utilities H.O.P.E. (Helping Our People Everyday) Campaign gives employees the opportunity to donate to Community Shares' Pikes Peak Chapter member agencies.  In 2007, the campaign invited additional CSC agencies to participate including Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, Trails and Open Spaces Coalition, Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission and the ACLU Foundation of Colorado.  Along with running a campaign that has a great impact on Colorado Springs community organizations, we thank the City for welcoming increased diversity to the giving campaign.
