Network for a Cause: Benefit for Community Shares   This Wednesday, June 6, join young professionals at the Hornet (76 Broadway, Denver) for a happy hour event benefiting Community Shares of Colorado.  Network for a Cause is $20 in advance or at the door, which gets you a drink, appetizers and a great way to meet new people!  For more information email Colleen or call 303-284-8265.  Click here to purchase tickets.   Member spotlight   Colorado Environmental Coalition celebrated another great year at their Rebel with a Cause Gala last night, honoring John Fielder as the 2007 Rebel with a Cause and reflecting on a very successful legislative session.  Read more in the Shares Blog.   Partners of the month Outstanding Member Agency Bicycle Colorado June is Colorado Bike Month and what better time to honor Bicycle Colorado for their work to make our state a friendly place to ride.  Bicycle Colorado has effectively lobbied for the Share the Road license plate, which will help fund safer paths throughout Colorado.  Bicycle Colorado is one of many groups that will be assisting and cheering on riders June 27th for Bike to Work Day 2007.  Bicycle Colorado also sponsors a number of bike rides each year, helping to raise funds for other nonprofits and programs including Children's Hospital, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and American Diabetes Foundation.  Their continuous support for local causes makes them a great partner to Community Shares and we are proud to recognize them as this month's Outstanding Member Agency.   Outstanding Workplace Exempla Healthcare In 2006, Exempla employees contributed over $11,000 to Community Shares member nonprofits, a 50% increase over 2004!  Exempla demonstrates its community benefit through charity care and services provided at free or low-cost, including education, research and prevention programs through Exempla Lutheran Medical Center, Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, and Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.  We are proud to have Exempla as a Celebration Sponsor for our 2007 Summer Celebration and appreciate their outstanding commitment to community!   Community Events     June 2 - Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver: House Dedication         11AM @ 4529/4533 W.
