For 25 years Community Shares has been connecting Coloradans to the causes and charities they care about most. Our Guiding Principles of Choice in Giving, Local Significance, Membership Diversity, and Financial Clarity continue to drive us in managing effective and inclusive workplace giving campaigns.
Member Excellence
We believe in local nonprofit organizations to build a more vital and vibrant Colorado. Community Shares annually reviews and recertifies member 501(c)(3) organizations for participation in workplace giving campaigns. Community Shares’ Member Excellence Standards are benchmarks to help you make quality decisions in your giving and promote excellence and innovation within nonprofit organizations.
Your Paycheck Contribution
Community Shares works directly with your workplace to ensure your gift reaches the nonprofit organization you have designated. Community Shares receives paycheck contribution withholdings from your payroll department throughout the year and distributes donations to your designated community nonprofit on a quarterly basis.
At Community Shares, all gifts are welcome and all designations are honored with no minimums. We serve as the proud partner of all people who are ready and willing to work together to make a difference.
Transparency and Trust
Nothing is more important than your trust. Community Shares is committed to best practices in workplace giving campaigns and managing all donations with financial clarity. Community Shares retains approximately a 10% campaign management fee on our annual net campaign total. Our member agencies are aware of this fee and recognize it as a low cost, highly effective opportunity to reach new audiences and donors.
Tax Deduction Eligibility
Donations made through workplace giving are eligible for a deduction on your annual income tax. IRS reporting laws require you to provide a copy of your pledge form and a copy of your last pay stub of the year showing the total amount withheld as a charitable contribution.
